Fallingwater: A Display Font
‘Fallingwater Display’ is an experimental display font that celebrates the iconic architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright’s ‘Fallingwater’. Each letterform is directly sampled from various angles of the building, utilising natural light and shadow to form three dimensional glyphs inspired by the building’s harmonious relationship with nature.
The font is produced in halftone inspired by ‘Letratone’ transfer sheets, to visualise textures that highlight the realism and beauty of the architecture being situated within nature.
A 22-page type specimen showcases the font alongside an A1 Letraset style poster. The cover sleeve uses G F Smith recycled card-stock in which 90% of water used in the production process is returned to a river in Wisconsin.
